The COMESA Trade Facilitation Program was a landmark initiative designed to reduce trade barriers, streamline customs procedures, and enhance regional economic integration across 21 member states in Eastern and Southern Africa.
ADRES Group was engaged to lead the comprehensive assessment, policy development, and implementation support phases of this ambitious program. Our work spanned three years and involved close collaboration with government agencies, customs authorities, private sector stakeholders, and regional bodies.
The program addressed critical bottlenecks in cross-border trade, including lengthy customs clearance times, inconsistent regulatory frameworks, inadequate infrastructure, and limited coordination among border agencies. Through systematic reforms and targeted interventions, we helped transform the regional trade landscape.
