AGRA launched the Value4Her Women Agripreneurs of the Year Awards (WAYA) at the AGRF Summit in 2021 to recognize African female Agripreneurs who have excelled in the agricultural value chains and have demonstrated remarkable innovation by contributing positively towards food security, climate resilience, women, and youth empowerment.

Purpose of WAYA Awards:

• Fuel technological advancement by highlighting women leading the change in using technology to improve the industry.
• Enhance value creation: By recognizing female-owned businesses that elevate the economic and consumer appeal of agricultural products.
• Nurture supportive ecosystems by fostering opportunities for other female agripreneurs to thrive.
• Celebrate resilience: Acknowledges the unwavering determination and success of female agripreneurs overcoming significant challenges in marginalized communities.
• Promote regional excellence: Recognize promising businesses in each of Africa’s five regions, showcasing their potential for growth and impact.
